Who Am I?


Anthony Power


Everyone is always curious about the people behind ideas and solutions. In fact, the first page people often look at on an agency site is the bios, so I put mine first in the navigation.

I'm an analyst that can explain consumer behavior in such a way that helps marketing better align solutions to consumer needs. I combine methods and approaches based on a wide set of experiences from across industries and technologies in order to create new solutions to long-standing challenges.

I have experience across a number of marketing disciplines - research, analtyics, syndicated data, systems integration, reporting and analytics software, agency and direct marketing.

My work experience includes senior management roles in strategy, analtytics and business operations. I bring a broad base of skills to marketing challenges:

  • Industries: Consumer marketing, post-secondary education, and automotive
  • Topics: Business intelligence, analysis and data science
  • Disciplines: Lead generation, direct response and database marketing

And beyond client work I have taught marketing at several local universities and act as a mentor MBA students.

Origins of FlyIron.


FlyIron grew out of my experience with a variety of interesting and challenging set of client needs.

The Fly of FlyIron represents strategy, creativity and innovation, not to mention that I enjoy fly-fishing in Montana whenever possible. This would be the right-brain activity of seeing the art of the possible.

The Iron of FlyIron represents the grounded, operational side of data, analysis and technology, not to mention I like to ride a steel road bike along the front of Wasatch mountains (although my new bike is carbon fiber.) This would be the left-brain side of converting an idea into a plan of execution.
